Our 2019 Giving Day took place on Saturday 16th November.
On Saturday 16 November 2019, eight Nuffield students called alumni and friends based all over the world to share College news and encourage alumni to support our student funding campaign.?
In 2017, we committed to underwriting funding for all students admitted to Nuffield. We know that underwriting funding means more student applicants accept places at Nuffield: during our pilot study in 2017, 79% of offerholders accepted their offer thanks to underwritten funding, compared to 54% in 2016. Every scholarship secures the future of this endeavour.?
Thanks to many alumni who have already supported the College as part of Giving Day. We have now been able to endow six scholarships in perpetuity, and donations from alumni this year will directly support the David Butler Scholarship in Politics, to celebrate his contribution to political science in his 95th birthday year. Every donation, no matter the size helps.?

I am Ahmed Tohamy, a second year MPhil economist at Nuffield College, funded jointly by the college and the Clarendon fund. Prior to this, I completed my undergraduate degree in economics at the University of Warwick. I happily rejoin the Development team this year after appreciating the benefits of Nuffield's intellectual rigor and scholarship. Over the past year, discussions with students and Fellows have always stimulated my interest in economics, and social sciences more broadly. In the light of this year's giving day, I am enthusiastic to chat with Nuffield's diverse alumni about their recent updates too!
